MADRID, 1973
In a very Madrillian Steet called San Mateo, an old mineral water warehouse, this educational project had its first headquarters. It was a small place full of charm where besides art classes, talks, projections, opinions, work, and creative ideas were embraced.
Taller de Artes Imaginarias was a groundbreaking school in a time when nothing comparable existed. Even the country’s situation did not come along with art activities where critical artistic minds and freedom were a must. Official education was not good enough, not great enough, and based on a really strict methodology.
Years went by as young artists, from every artistic field, came together to create a new place, an interdisciplinary School founded on freedom and creativity. Theater, cinema, design, photography, plastic arts, music literature, and every art combined in a unique space.
The convergence of arts and people has been so vast that it has created TAI Community. 5 decades of Art of thousands of hours shared between students and teachers moved by the same basis: their passion for Arts.
Moved by the forefront and life change TAI has moved forward stronger and brighter but always keeping its mission and values: ART POWER TO CHANGE PEOPLE AND SOCIETY.
